Wedding Spotlight - Michael and Elizabeth

This week's Spotlight is on Michael and Elizabeth!

Michael and Elizabeth met when they were 10 at a New Year's party. Their families were friends with each other. They lost touch but reconnected through his cousin and have been close ever since. They have grown up together and have been dating for 9 years now! Their very first date was to the movies to see Blades of Glory.

Elizabeth describes how Michael proposed: “He surprised me with a sunset sailboat tour on Lake Ray Hubbard after a nice dinner. Right at sunset he proposed to me in the middle of deck.” Afterwards, he surprised her by meeting her whole family at main event for congratulations, drinks, bowling, and laser tag. She says it was just a perfect night!

They describe their wedding style as “classy, understated, rustic but still some sparkle”

Elizabeth says she was looking for a barn near or close to ether Fort Worth or Rockwall. She stumbled on The Big White Barn when we were still very new. They go camping and hunting in the nearby LBJ Grasslands all the time so they decided to at least do a drive by on way home from a camping weekend. They wanted to see if was even worth setting up a tour.

Elizabeth fell in love, set a time right then, brought her mom, grandmother, and Michael to tour. She says, “They absolutely loved it too! We paid for it in full that night. That was about 2 years ago and I’ve never questioned my choice. Nothing compares!”
